Severe drought threatens Calgary’s urban forest

The unusually hot and dry Calgary summer is taking its toll on the city’s urban forest. Falling branches and an early yellowing of leaves are a reflection of the season’s drought, and city residents are being urged to give “a good soaking” to the trees on their properties to ensure their survival.
