Several new pickleball courts slated for Vancouver area, but noise remains a concern
Pop-up courts to be placed at tennis courts
February 17, 2022 By Turf & Rec

Several new pickleball courts are slated for Vancouver as the sport continues its upward growth and popularity. The Vancouver Park Board and the Vancouver Pickleball Association say the pop-up courts will largely be placed atop existing tennis courts. Although Vancouver-area municipalities applaud the continuing growth of the sport, they have criticized the amount of noise it produces when the paddle makes contact with the ball. The mayor of Delta has urged pickleball associations to develop “quieter” equipment to mitigate the concern.
