Sensitive ecosystem at risk in B.C. park if playground is to be installed
Park is home to one of area's last patches of camas plants

A new playground slated to be built in Castlegar, B.C’s Millennium Park will have a detrimental effect on the local ecosystem, a local botanist says. The park is home to one of the area’s last large patches of camas plants. Bees, butterflies and hummingbirds rely on the plant in the spring, and larger animals eat its leaves and bulbs.
