Saskatchewan trying to keep a lid on the control of Dutch elm disease
Fungal disease first discovered in province in early 1980s

Saskatchewan communities are doing their part to keep a lid on the spread of Dutch elm disease. The fungal disease made its initial presence in Regina in the early 1980s, and was eventually eradicated. It returned about 1990, and efforts to keep it under control in the province have been ongoing.
