Rising inflation and other factors leave Peterborough sports dome project in limbo

Rising inflation has taken a toll on the future of a proposed sports dome north of Peterborough, Ont. The project, initiated by Hybrid Sports, was to feature a sports dome that would house a regulation-size artificial turf field as well as a building to serve as a gymnastics facility and an outdoor stadium the Electric City FC team could call home. In addition to rising costs, other issues that have put the project in limbo include the approval of plans that had been delayed during COVID and environmental concerns.
