Residents of Montreal suburb none too happy with neglect of city parks

Grass is knee-high in some areas

June 18, 2024  By Turf & Rec

Residents in Montreal’s Notre-Dame-de-Grace neighbourhood are none too happy with what they perceive as the city’s negligence in maintaining local parks.

CTV News reports the grass at Warren Allmand Park has yet to be mowed this year and is already knee-high. Residents are baffled why the city can allow its parks to grow out of control while expecting residents to maintain their properties.

There are others, however, who say the unmaintained green spaces are good for animal and insect life.

Most parks in the Montreal suburb are mowed while others receive less attention. City crews turned out to Warren Allmand Park Saturday night to mow, but stopped midway when neighbours complained about the noise.
