Researchers study willows as soil, water decontaminant

May 22, 2018 – Research has found that willow trees help absorb soil pollutants while their roots produce microorganism that help break down the chemical compounds that can’t be absorbed. A four-year natural decontamination project has been launched in Montreal at a former polluted industrial land site.
