Renovations to Montreal football field to disrupt season for local youth program
Season to start early to get as many games in as possible before work begins
August 16, 2024 By Turf & Rec
Youth football program officials in Montreal are frustrated that renovations required for a field at Jeanne-Mance Park are timed to coincide with the program’s fall schedule.
CBC News reports program officials wish the municipality’s timing could be better so that the work doesn’t disrupt the season. Details about the work involved and its timing were not provided.
The city, however, noted it wishes to make the park more universally accessible. The youth football program will be starting its season earlier than normal to get in as many games as possible before renovations get underway.
