Regina baseball team must address issues with its field or face suspension from league

Motion before council to explore new stadium

The Regina Red Sox franchise is facing possible suspension from the Western Canadian Baseball League if they don’t address certain deficiencies with their current stadium.

Field dimensions at Currie Field are said to be below Baseball Canada’s standards, CTV News reports. Other shortcomings include inadequate washrooms and bleachers.

A motion is before city council to revisit the possibility of constructing a new premier baseball facility in Regina.

It’s reported Regina’s ballpark doesn’t compare with the league’s other facilities.
