Proposed cricket stadium in Brampton will accommodate other sports if approved
Stadium expected to cost $35 million
A $35-million stadium proposed for cricket in Brampton will actually become a multi-sport facility if it comes to fruition, the city’s mayor says. Patrick Brown said the city has $264 million budgeted for recreation infrastructure, adding some of that should be earmarked for cricket, but noted such a facility would also be used for field hockey and soccer. Brown said cricket has historically been underfunded in Brampton, yet the city has attracted some of the largest international cricket tournaments.
