Proposed ‘cheaper’ option for indoor soccer facility in Thunder Bay could cost $10M more

What was expected to be a cheaper option for an indoor sports turf facility in Thunder Bay, Ont. could cost up to $10 million more. Soccer Northwest Ontario had pitched a plan to the city for a hangar-like facility that could come in under $20 million and be located adjacent to the Canada Games Complex. City staff has said the price could reach as high as $30 million, with environmental building standards factored in, but the option hasn’t been ruled out.
