Dust devils wreak havoc on baseball diamonds
May 15, 2018 – Three Canadian baseball fields – two in Alberta, one in Ontario – have been hit this past week by powerful dust devils. The vertical vortexes of air resemble small tornadoes and occurred each time while games were being played. The anomalies had sufficient power to pick up lawn chairs and other objects to heights surpassing the backstop fences and throw them about.
