14,000 ash trees on chopping block in Grand River watershed

The Grand River Conservation Authority plans to cut down about 14,000 in the Grand River watershed that have been affected by the emerald ash borer. Among the hardest hit areas is the Laurel Creek Conservation Area near Waterloo, Ont. where 450 affected trees have already been removed and another 100 are slated for removal by the end of December.
