The next evolution in the Kubota RTV900 family

December 16, 2010  By  Mike Jiggens

Kubota entered the utility vehicle market in 2004, with a new
idea: a utility vehicle devoted to work. Kubota’s RTV Family has redefined
what a work utility vehicle is all about.

As a single source manufacturer, Kubota’s diesel engine was matched with a new innovation to the market, Kubota’s own variable hydrostatic transmission (VHT). kubotawebThis variable hydrostat meant that when the operator put the machine to the test, a secondary oil pump would open to supply more torque to the wheels and power through the task at hand. Standard features included hydrostatic power steering, selectable 2WD or 4WD traction, bench style seat with back rest, halogen headlights, front guard, true hydraulic bed-lift, 1,300 pound towing capacity and a choice of body colour, tire traction and more than 40 accessories.

Flash forward to 2011 with the next evolution, the RTV900XT Series. Using the same Kubota 21.6 horse power diesel engine (now updated for Tier IV emission compliance), and some big improvements to the VHT Plus transmission, the new VHT Plus2 transmission provides better hill climbing and performance under load. For serviceability and durability, new stronger drive shafts and grease points have been added to prolong the life of the new Kubota RTV900XT.

The front guard has been updated and now wraps around the corner of the machine, further protecting the headlights. Improving on operator comfort, these new models offer a wider and taller seat with a darker grey finish. You will be able to select your new RTV900XT model in the same series; General Purpose (optional front guard & manual bed-lift), Worksite (Kubota Orange or Realtree® Camouflage) and Utility Worksite/Turf (with standard rear remote) and tire options.

New for 2011 is the RTV900XTS Series. The RTV900XTS Series comes standard with all the new great improvements of the RTV900XT models, but standard from the factory your new model will sport a true hydraulic dump cargo box, factory spray-on liner, Kubota Orange body colour, Alloy Rims and your choice of ATV or HDWS tires. Visit Kubota's new http://www.kubota.ca website or call your local dealer for a personal view. The new models will begin to arrive at Kubota's 150 Canadian dealerships, starting the end of February.
