Anthracnose fungicide gets Canadian registration

April 6, 2015  By  Mike Jiggens

Phostrol, a turf fungicide aimed at the control of anthracnose on golf courses, sod farms, municipal, industrial and residential turf, has been registered for use in Canada, Engage Agro Corporation has announced.

The product is a systemic and unique phosphite fungicide that has both a direct and indirect effect on pythium blight and now anthracnose.

“The addition of anthracnose to the Phostrol label means professional turf managers now have an effective, convenient and cost-effective alternative to protect their turf from these two, potentially devastating, diseases,” said Justin Parsons, sales and account manager for Engage Agro’s professional turf products.

“Engage Agro is excited to bring new innovation to the golf and professional turf industry," said Barry Johnson, marketing manager for Engage Agro’s professional turf products. "The Phostrol registration is one of many new products that we expect to launch over the next few years."
