A clean, portable way to fend off mosquitoes

September 5, 2018  By  Mike Jiggens

Sept. 5, 2018 – The Thermacell MR450 armoured portable mosquito repeller effectively repels mosquitoes by creating a 15-foot zone of protection. There is no need to resort to messy spray-on repellents to stay clear of nuisance mosquitoes when enjoying the outdoors or working in a confined area. It’s important to note that mosquitoes are more than just a nuisance. They can carry both the West Nile and Zika viruses that can render those bitten extremely ill.

The small, rugged device can be taken virtually anywhere to repel pesky mosquitoes, stopping them before they can bite or become bothersome. Whether it’s a homeowner who wishes to sit back on his deck and read or an outdoor professional weeding a garden or trimming a tree, the MR450 includes some unique features:

• Rubber armoured, ZoneCheck, belt clip, quiet ignition, re-engineered grill and switch, improved ergonomics, and accessory mounting system included

• ZoneCheck provides a visual indication when zone of protection is created

• No spray and no mess. Scent-free and DEET-free.

• No open flame, no smoky candles

Each package contains one MR450 Repeller, one belt clip, one CR2032 battery, and 12 hours of refills (three repellent mats and one fuel cartridge).

The MR450 portable repeller features ZoneCheck – a built-in LED that illuminates when the repeller is up to temperature and emitting the Zone of Protection. The LED turns off when the temperature falls below the optimal level.

“Once dusk sets in, mosquitoes tend to become a nuisance and drive us indoors at a time when it might otherwise still be pleasant enough to want to spend an hour or more outdoors on the deck. We found the ThermaCell to be an ideal way to spend that quality time outside without having to be slapping mosquitoes constantly. The portability of the product enables us to take it with us wherever we want protection against mosquitoes, whether it’s on our back deck, on camping trips or working in our garden. It’s also a much more convenient, effective and cleaner method of being mosquito-free than lighting a coil or spraying ourselves with repellent.” – Mike Jiggens, editor, Turf & Rec
