Post-‘Snowtember’ plan enters final year in Calgary

Calgary has entered the final year of its tree disaster recovery plan enacted in 2014 when more than 50 per cent of the city’s urban forest was damaged in what has become known as Snowtember. The September snowstorm that year prompted the multi-million-dollar recovery plan, and one city councillor wishes to see the program extended beyond 2017, suggesting the city hasn’t planted enough trees.
