Police nab suspect after ball park’s batting cage was torched twice within two weeks
Cage was the only one in town

Cornwall, Ont.’s local minor baseball association recently suffered a setback when Legion Park’s batting cage was vandalized twice within the past two weeks.
Cornwall District Minor Baseball League president Kyle Bergeron, whose father and grandfather had previously helmed the league, said it would be “a while” before the cage was up and running again.
The cage is the city’s only one and had been vandalized previously before the back-to-back fires. With insurance covering only a portion of the cost, a local fundraising effort was launched and has raised almost $10,000.
The league is negotiating with a local softball league to help cover the cost of a pair of cages.
Police have since charged a 16-year-old with arson.
