June 21, 2018 – The use of iprodione in golf course fungicides has been cancelled. Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has cited safety risks to food and drinking water.
The announcement was made following a multi-stakeholder teleconference call yesterday that was organized by Health Canada.
Iprodione is the active ingredient in Rovral, Quali-Pro and Trilogy. Manufacturers have 24 months to implement label changes. The official date for final use of iprodione is June 21, 2021.
Lynn Lee of the PMRA said another special review of the active ingredient has been initiated to explore remaining permissible uses and potential changes to the timeline for discontinued usage.
