Plans to develop Alberta golf course met with opposition by local residents

Residents want to retain the only golf course in town

A developer who wishes to build a housing and retail project on the Lakeside Greens Golf Course property in Chestermere, Alta. is facing opposition from local residents. The developer says the golf course is no longer a viable business in the long term, but residents argue it’s the only golf course in town and its closure would represent a lack of recreational opportunities.
