Owen Sound council agrees to learn more about artificial turf project before making any financial commitment

The cost of a new artificial turf field and a dome at Owen Sound, Ont.’s Victoria Park could cost between $2.2 million and $2.6 million. Although city council has indicated such a project may not get approval, it agreed in a 7-2 vote to obtain more information before making a decision. Coun. Travis Dodd told council that a consultant’s study suggested a project of such magnitude was not financially sustainable without the involvement of a major partner such as the school board.
