Ottawa ready to begin pilot project to phase out gasoline-powered landscaping tools
Tender issued for battery-powered equipment

The City of Ottawa’s commitment to begin phasing out gasoline-powered landscaping equipment used by municipal staff is soon to get underway. Starting this summer, six crews will begin a pilot project by using electric and battery-powered equipment on job sites. The city’s parks services has issued a tender for the supply and delivery of battery-powered landscaping tools, including trimmers, blowers and chain saws.
