Proposed bylaw aimed to help protect city's urban forest

Fines assessed for tree removal in Ottawa without a proper permit are weak, a city councillor says. But he added a new bylaw aimed at protecting Ottawa’s urban forest will increase the application fee for removing trees and enlarge existing fines.
