Ontario’s snow contractors are leaving the industry in large numbers as insurance rates soar

Ontario’s private snow contractors are leaving the business left and right as insurance rates continue to soar beyond affordability. Many insurers are no longer offering coverage which has made it even more difficult for contractors to stay in business. The provincial government introduced new legislation almost a year ago that drastically reduced the amount of time to file a slip-and-fall claim, but it has yet to make an impact on the insurance industry.
