NFLPA president calls for all teams to switch to natural grass to reduce injuries

The president of the National Football League Players Association wants to see all league stadiums currently equipped with artificial turf surfaces to convert to natural grass. J.C. Tretter, a centre with the Cleveland Browns, cited data compiled over a six-year period shows a 28 per cent higher rate of non-contact injuries to lower extremities occur when playing or practising on artificial turf.
