Victoria mayor says city’s cherry blossoms are safe

Feb. 27, 2019 – Victoria’s cherry blossom trees are safe, the city’s mayor says. Lisa Helps said there has been no council decision to remove the trees and replace them with native species. She said the city has a policy to replace non-native plants with native species, but it doesn’t apply to trees.
