July has been designated Smart Irrigation Month by the Irrigation Association as a means to promote the social, economic and environmental benefits of efficient irrigation technologies, products and services in turf, landscape and agricultural irrigation.
New this year is Irrigation Technology Tuesday slated for the second Tuesday of the month.
“Kicking off with the new Technology Tuesday, I am excited to see all our industry has to offer to communicate the message of promoting efficient irrigation,” Irrigation Association CEO Deborah Hamlin said.
“We hope this Smart Irrigation Month will be the biggest and best ever,” IA government and public affairs director John Farner said. “With our committed members and partner organizations, the opportunities for Smart Irrigation Month are endless. Let the countdown to Technology Tuesday begin.”
Activities planned for Smart Irrigation Month include a social media campaign, advocacy and public outreach.
