April 3, 2019 – The lone, century-old elm tree sitting next to Parliament Hill’s Centre Block is down to its last few days. An opposition motion to delay its removal was quashed yesterday during an emergency meeting of the Procedure and House Affairs Committee when a last-minute Liberal vote sealed the tree’s fate. It will now be removed as early as late next week.
