May 28, 2018 – Dr. Eric Lyons of the University of Guelph will speak about “overcoming high sports turf demands and wear and tear” June 13 at a sports turf field day at the Vancouver Whitecaps National Soccer Development Centre.
The day is a joint presentation of the Western Canada Turfgrass Association, UBC Athletics and the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Beginning at noon and continuing until 3 p.m., the event will also include a field tour and look at the Whtiecaps’ training facility, led by Gary Bartley and other Whitecaps’ personnel.
Space is limited to the first 75 to register, with WCTA members given top priority. The session is free, but it’s been suggested attendees make a $50 contribution to turf research to help support the work of Lyons and others in the research field.
