Loan recommended to help soccer group pay for turf

Sept. 26, 2018 – An interest-free loan amounting to more than $600,000 may be provided to the Stratford (Ont.) Soccer Association by the city to help pay back a $700,000 commitment it made in 2015 to help pay for a new artificial turf playing field. Council has yet to ratify the proposed loan to help the association which has secured only $84,000 of its commitment. The cost of the field is $1.2 million.
