Congress 2020 early registration starts in September

Aug. 28, 2019 – Green professionals eager to buckle down and work on their businesses, enhance their technical and horticultural expertise, and recruit talent for their teams may not want to miss Landscape Ontario’s Congress ’20 Conference. The annual, four-day event kicks off with three special events and Monday, Jan. 6, followed by three full days of invaluable sessions lead by innovative thinkers and business experts. Congress ’20 Conference runs Jan. 7-9, 2020, at the Toronto Congress Centre.

Special events on Monday include the IPM Symposium that deals with the practices and changing conditions that affect turf management, ensure optimal growth and minimize conditions favourable to pest insects, weeds and pathogens. Run concurrently is the Landscape Designers Conference that inspires creativity, advice on plant choices and nature’s harmony and solid strategies for a profitable business. The final event is geared towards business owners who will benefit from stepping up their leadership game.

Congress imparts business, practical and technical knowledge regardless of financial or time restraints, and is a must-attend program for everyone engaged in or looking for a career in the green professions. Concurrent sessions run mornings and afternoons, along with keynotes at lunch, and owner’s only sessions. Leading experts will take on topics of paramount importance to green professionals including the multigenerational workforce, pest and stormwater management, plant selection, water features, traditional, digital and social marketing, leadership and secrets for hiring great people.

Valuable knowledge can be obtained at events that take place on the trade show floor and offer two sessions each per day. Back for round No. 5, Hardscape LIVE delves into hardscape installation that improve efficiency and profits. With a focus on proper tree selection, planting and maintenance strategies, Green LIVE assists contractors deliver a better product and service to their customers. Equipment and employees must be transported safely to job sites, at Drive LIVE, Toronto and York Region police officers along with the OPP will be on hand to demonstrate how to comply with Ontario regulations. New for 2020, Recruit LIVE is an opportunity for employers and potential employees to network, interview and be hired. The LIVE series is free with a trade show badge.
