Turning land into park protects area from development

A 12,700-square-foot parcel of land in Victoria has been purchased by the city to protect it from development and turn it into a new park. The space includes an environmentally-sensitive Garry oak meadow. The land had previously been privately owned and was sold to the city for $1 million.
