New Yellowknife artificial turf surfaces praised for their cushioning, playability
Indoor fieldhouse surfaces recently installed
August 8, 2024 By Turf & Rec
Yellowknife’s two indoor fields at the fieldhouse are ready for play after being resurfaced with artificial turf.
CBC News reports the playing surface is already receiving praise for its cushioning and playability. The previous surface was regarded as too hard and rough with more ball bounce.
The older artificial turf cover contributed to more leg injuries among players, the founder of the Yellowknife Bay Soccer Club said.
The two surfaces cost $548,055.
