New solutions are needed to manage the growing problem of Canada goose excrement on lawns and sports fields in Victoria, B.C., experts are saying. The geese are responsible for about two pounds of excrement daily, ruining soccer fields and contaminating water by triggering algae blooms. The birds are degrading the urban ecology, experts say, and methods such as egg sterilization work only so much.
