NCC announces April 2023 ban on gasoline-powered landscaping tools

City of Ottawa ponders similar action

A ban on gasoline-powered landscaping tools, including leaf blowers and trimmers, is being enacted April 1, 2023 by the National Capital Commission. The ban will affect NCC’s maintenance contractors. An Ottawa city councillor has also recommended the municipality follow suit by phasing out gas-powered equipment once suitable electric alternatives become available.
