Municipal golf courses in London planned to become winter homeless shelter grounds

River Road and Fanshawe municipal golf courses in London, Ont. are set to serve as the grounds for homeless shelters this winter, pending approval by city council in November. The plan is to have trailers set up at the courses by Dec. 1, giving the local homeless a place to go during the cold. The temporary shelter areas are planned to remain open until the end of March, except for Fanshawe, which is to close March 1.
