The Stanley Thompson-designed Whirlpool Golf Course in Niagara Falls is ready to begin a multi-year restoration.

SCOREGolf reports architect Ian Andrew has been retained to oversee the project that will be completed in various phases to restore the golf course to Thompson’s original vision. This includes restoring tee decks to their original locations and eliminating bunkers and mounds that weren’t part of Thompson’s original design.

Whirlpool was built in 1951 and was Thompson’s final 18-hole project.
