More artificial turf fields should be made a municipal priority, football club tells North Vancouver council

More artificial turf sports fields are needed in North Vancouver, city council has been told, but the mayor says the current state of the economy makes for bad timing. A packed council chamber for a special meeting last week heard from the North Vancouver Football Club that prospective players are being turned away due to a lack of artificial playing facilities, which it recommended be made a priority. About 1,100 players belonging to the football club currently play on gravel fields.
