Mississauga turning former nine-hole golf course into 27-acre city park

December 14, 2021  By Turf & Rec

Mississauga, Ont.’s Grand Highland Golf Course is to be transformed into a 27-acre park.

Although located in one of the city’s fastest growing and busiest areas, the municipality wishes to keep the area as green space. Input from local residents will also be sought to determine what might be desired in a new park.

The former nine-hole golf course opened in 1994, but shut down last year. A start time for its redevelopment has yet to be determined.

Tweets from members of the public expressed gratitude that the property was saved from the hands of developers.
