Many of Stanley Park’s trees threatened by insects, lack of precipitation

Vancouver’s Stanley Park – a downtown jewel of green – is under stress on a couple of fronts. The western hemlock looper moth is defoliating several trees in the park, and British Columbia’s prolonged drought period isn’t helping to keep the park’s vast array of trees healthy. Experts suggest many trees in the park are dead or dying as a result of insect and weather issues.
