Man’s refusal to mow unkempt lawn results in police standoff, shots fired

A Fort Worth, Texas man’s refusal to mow his unkempt lawn escalated into a confrontation with police on Friday, resulting in shots being fired and the involvement of the local SWAT team. The man had been cited with his seventh violation in two years for neglecting to keep his lawn properly maintained. When no one answered the door to receive the citation, a local landscaping company began mowing the lengthy grass. Shots were subsequently fired at the mower operators, precipitating a standoff with police that lasted four hours.
