Landscape Ontario launches early start training program for 2021 employees

Landscape Ontario is launching a winter program to help landscaping firms get a head start on training new employees in time for the 2021 season.

Registration is open for the GROW New Entrant training program that provides new workers with four weeks of soft skills and technical instruction as well as a two-week paid job placement with the participating firm. It will be followed by full-time employment for employees who are the right fit.

In addition to acquiring a basic knowledge of soft skills needed to be successful in the industry, prospective employees will also be provided with health and safety in the workplace training, an introduction to safe tool and equipment operation, basic plant identification, softscape and turf maintenance training, plan reading and tree planting skills.

There is no cost for participation in the program.
