A ban on two-stroke gasoline-powered landscaping equipment in Vancouver will cause strata fees to double, the owner of a local landscaping company has warned. Kyler Reid, owner of Lawn Care Plus, said there are several drawbacks associated with switching to quieter, less polluting battery-powered equipment, including the need to change batteries often, the expense of the equipment and the need to hire more staff. Extra costs would have to be passed onto customers, he said.
