Greening the Landscape Research Consortium is a Canadian initiative aimed at helping tree seedlings survive and grow to bolster the country’s urban forest. The consortium, launched by the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre, is an alliance of industry, scientific, non-profit and government representatives who are dedicated to increase the survival rate of trees amid high mortality rates. Up to one-third of new urban plantings can die within the first five years, researchers claim.
