Informing staff they were out of work a ‘terrible call’ to make, says club owner
Innisfil club had tough safety measures in place before shutdown

Having to inform his staff that they were out of work following the Ontario government’s lockdown of golf courses was a “terrible call” to make, says Nick Torkos, owner of Innisfil Creek Golf Course. The course had adopted new safety protocols it was ready to implement for opening the season, and had the region’s MPP present to personally show her how seriously the club was taking golfers’ and employees’ health.
