Increased parks usage needs increased maintenance budget: Calgary councillors
Amount of garbage in parks is on the rise

As more people are visiting Calgary’s parks amid the COVID-19 pandemic, more maintenance is required to keep the green spaces in favourable condition. Two city councillors are seeking $500,000 to be earmarked for parks maintenance. One concern that triggered the request is an increased amount of garbage in the parks. The current budget is deemed inadequate for keeping up with increased park use.
