Ground has been broken to begin construction of a new $2.5-million artificial sports field at Cochrane (Alta.) High School. It’s the town’s second artificial turf field and one being touted for its safety, quality and the number of different uses it can deliver. The president of the Cochrane Track and Field Association says artificial turf is safer to play on and not as slippery when wet.
