Half-million-dollar Ontario grant will help upgrade Indigenous community’s baseball field
40-year-old lighting system to be upgraded

A grant of almost $500,000 has been provided by the Ontario government to the Oneida Nation of the Thames to allow much-needed improvements to the community’s main baseball diamond and to build a new playground. The grant, streamed through the province’s Trillium Foundation, will help replace the field’s 40-year-old lighting with a brighter and more sustainable system.
