Group representing proposed Saskatoon soccer stadium ask city for funding assistance
Attendance could one day rival that of CFL

An impassioned pitch was made to Saskatoon council on Monday in an effort to obtain city funding for a proposed new soccer stadium. Council was asked by representatives of Prairieland Park and Living Sky Sports and Entertainment for $8 million over eight years to help fund the projected $28-million stadium intended to become the home for a new Canadian Premier League soccer team. Prairieland Park’s CEO told council he believes the soccer league will eventually rival the Canadian Football League in attendance.
