Group of golfers band together in hopes of buying course slated for development

Chestermere, Alta.’s Lakeside Golf Club is slated for development, but five local residents have banded together in a bid to purchase the golf course and save it from becoming the home for 1,200 new houses. The club’s current ownership, however, plans to continue with development plans, not seeing the prospective buyers’ bid as serious. Lakeside is the town’s only golf course.
